I changed /etc/hostname from

   erap-gnome to

   erap-gnome.ea.linuxcs.com


but got exactly the same error:

[root at erap-gnome ~]# net ads join -U administrator
Password for [EA\administrator]:
Using short domain name -- EA
Joined 'ERAP-GNOME' to dns domain 'ea.linuxcs.com'
No DNS domain configured for erap-gnome. Unable to perform DNS Update.
DNS update failed: NT_STATUS_INVALID_PARAMETER
