(1) links probably should be avoided in the Wiki unless they are under the control of Samba, as link rot is a very real problem 
(2) "linked" material cannot be modified, corrected, updated, supplemented ... all of the things that Wiki's are great for

To be polite, you shouldn't just take something without asking and
giving authorship, even if it is GPLv3.
