This displays a GUI message when ran on the same Windows host through a
terminal window ("DOS box"), so it doesn't look like I need an extra app:
===============
msg * Test
===============
On the Debian host, if I just run the basic command, I'm prompted for a
root password. Since it doesn't like Debian's root password, I guess
it's the Windows' admin password… which is empty (it's a home computer,
I don't bother):
===============
~# smbclient -M WIN-PC
Enter root's password:<ENTER>
Connection to WIN-PC failed. Error NT_STATUS_UNSUCCESSFUL
===============
I think I'll give up and just send an email instead.
Thanks everyone for the help.
