Umm, just a wild attempt.. Below is pretty clear. 

systemctl stop smbd nmbd winbind
systemctl mask smbd nmbd winbind
systemctl daemon-reload

! I did leave out nmbd here below, 
if you need it enable it later on. 
First try this. 

systemctl unmask smbd winbind
systemctl enable smbd winbind
systemctl start smbd winbind

Try this and see if this helps..
