That is because you are not entering the command in the same way as on
the page you linked to:

$ nslookup rpidc1.samdom.example.com
Server:		192.168.0.4
Address:	192.168.0.4#53

Name:	rpidc1.samdom.example.com
Address: 192.168.0.10

$ nslookup
> set type=SRV
> _ldap._tcp.samdom.example.com
Server:		192.168.0.4
