Hello Guys,

I'm trying to update Samba 4.14 schema from 2008_R2 to 2012_R2.

I have tried the command: samba-tool domain schemaupgrade and I
received the following error:
ERROR: Failed to upgrade schema. Check if 'patch' is installed"

Then I have tried another command: samba-tool domain functionalprep
--function-level=2012_R2 and the following error occur:
Exception: (16, 'objectclass msDS-ClamTypes is not a valid objectClass in
schema')
Exception: (16, 'objectclass msTPM-InformationObjectContainer is not a
valid objectClass in schema')

ERROR: Failed to perform functional prep.

Could someone help me, please?

Thanks

Hi

I have two ADs (VMs) running Debian 10.10 with Samba 2: 4.14.6 +
dfsg-0.1buster1 from the Van Belle repository and I need to update the
schema from 2008_R2 to 2012_R2.

I found a guide at
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/AD_Schema_Version_Support and the
procedure seems to be easy to do.

I've already double-checked the running schema version with the commands:
samba-tool domain level show and ldsearch and everything looks OK:

Forest function level: (Windows) 2008 R2
Domain function level: (Windows) 2008 R2
Lowest function level of a DC: (Windows) 2008 R2

objectVersion: 47

My question is: do I need to run the samba-tool domain schemaupgrade
command on both AD servers or just one?

Thanks and best regards
