I would note that depending on your view of security FTP really isn't
an improvement.  Of course presumably as FTP is simpler, and there are
probably better sandboxes than you can do with Samba.  WebDAV over
HTTPS might be a good alternative as well, but likewise finding a
compatible cipher set can be hard.
