[Samba] rsync copy operation fails on a CIFS mount

Janos:

There doesn't seem to be much of a crowd at the linux-cifs list. I 
subscribed a while ago and then when my question wasn't getting much 
feedback here I posted it there. So far my own post is the only one I've 
received. It'll be good to have some company!
