First the good news, you can find much newer versions of Samba here:
http://apt.van-belle.nl/

Now the bad news, you cannot use sssd with Samba >= 4.8.0

Before 4.8.0, smbd could contact AD directly, this was removed and from
Samba 4.8.0, with 'security = ADS', you must install and run winbind.
sssd uses its own version of winbind libs so it cannot be used with
winbind, it also doesn't do NTLM.

The use of sssd with Samba is no longer supported, not even by red-hat
who produces sssd.
