Some fixes have been done recently:

But the password hash issue is still open, I don't know if it has been
accidentally resolved, it might be worth a try:

I'm sorry this isn't a 'just works', 'always tested' case, if this
matters a lot to you (ie it is a blocker for bigger things) then it
might be something where you may need to engage a Samba commercial
support provider to dig into fully.
