You use domain access by the mean of PAM winbind module, for examples,
for let user auth in other services (ssh, email, ...) or you have bind
your domain into a, eg, webinterface that support it (like nextcloud)?

Password error are cumulative and 'overrall global', eg if you use the
wrong password against a 'connected' services, you lock out the
account.
