Not really surprised, Centos 6 is as good as dead, it is only getting 
security updates and will go fully EOL in November, Python 2.6 went EOL 
in 2013, 2.7 has just gone EOL.

Can I suggest you upgrade Centos to version 7 at least, but preferably 
version 8 and then try again.
