[Samba] Is smbk5 OpenLDAP overlay still needed in any samba setup?

Hi all,

There are plans to (if possible) remove lanman support from OpenLDAP 
2.5, which also means removing the smbk5 module.

To what extent is this module still needed in Samba deployments (if used 
at all)?
