Have you some pointer to documentation on how 'pain' is? I've tried to
found some relevant info on ACL settings in LDAP, but i've found
nothing (or nothing i've considerend relevant ;-).

Probably the best things to do is to switch to some non-vendor-oriented
printer managemenet tools, like 'papercut':
