The clue is in part of the log: ERROR: failed to setup guest info.

If winbind isn't running on a Unix domain member, the guest group isn't 
mapped, but when it is running:

wbinfo -s S-1-5-32-546
BUILTIN\Guests 4

wbinfo -n BUILTIN\\Guests
S-1-5-32-546 SID_ALIAS (4)

getent group BUILTIN\\Guests
BUILTIN\guests:x:2009:
