OK, lets start at the other end, back on the Samba DC. Run this command, 
(altered for your domain etc):

ldbsearch -H /var/lib/samba/private/sam.ldb -b 
'dc=samdom,dc=example,dc=com' -s sub 
'(&(objectClass=user)(sAMAccountName=rowland))'

NOTE: the command is all one line.

Either sanitise the output and post it in an email (do not add it as an 
attachment), or send it to me offline.
