If you think about it, they are different computers that just happen to 
use the same hardware.  The VM solution (running Windows under 
VirtualBox is what I do on my workstation), but of course the Windows 
admins are now pushing the linux subsystem for Windows; i.e. doing your 
linux stuff under Windows.
