I use container (LXC, proxmox) for my DC. Al work flawlessy, only:

 + must be 'privileged' container (no unprivileged ones)

 + you have to let the container manage the syste clock (there's a
   specific 'CAP') or instruct ntpd NOT to use system clock ('disable
   kernel' in ntp.conf).
