I did say 'probably', in this case it isn't.
Reading the initial post again, this pops out:

ldb: unable to dlopen /usr/local/samba/lib/ldb/password_hash.so :
libgpgme.so.11: cannot open shared object file: No such file or
directory

It looks to me that it cannot find libgpgme.so.11, does this file
exist ? was it part of the update ?

I think it should be in /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu
