Sorry, but the future is nearly here, flatfiles will be formally 
deprecated when 4.11.0 is released and removed at 4.12.0

So, as you can see, you cannot use flatfiles with Samba, this means you 
have a couple of options, use the DC as the dns server for your domain, 
or use a subdomain for the Samba AD domain.

Why bother compiling Samba yourself, you can get the latest Samba debs 
from here: http://apt.van-belle.nl/
