Still nothing, you can raise the loglevel, but I do not think it is 
going to help.

Try looking in /var/log/syslog instead and/or /var/log/auth.log. There 
may be something there.

I think that the google command may be going direct to ldap, in which 
case, nothing will show in the Samba logs, so I will say it again, but 
louder this time:

CAN YOU POST THE QUERY THAT GOOGLE IS RUNNING ;-)
