That's one i never figured out, i think its the way how it works. 
But that i just dont know..  :-/  i suspect it has todo with the RFC 2136 implementation of dynamic dns updates in dlz_ 

But thats a wild guess, but if a dev knows any reply may help here. 
We cant know everything..
