The OP did, it is okay.

He seems to have provisioned with Bind9, but then had 'dns' in the
server services line.
He didn't have any forwarders in named.conf.options
he didn't have any nameservers in /etc/resolv.conf

This all started when the OP posted to the Samba team and asked to alter
a Samba wikipage, in a way that didn't make sense.
