I'm looking for the the same info. I'm also trying to avoid single points
of failure.

I wanted to move from 4.6 to 4.7 so I put up two new 4.7 DCs and migrated
the FSMO roles to one of the new DCs. Then I shut down the old one. But
the SOA record still points there !

Would also be interested in any other considerations when switching DC
roles. Pointers to a wiki, a howto or whatever.

Thanks in advance.
