Hello all,
I have a weird problem. We have several Windows 10 machines on our
Network. All but one run older releases than 1709. We are using roaming
profiles on those machines. The share is setup up as to allow different
profiles depending on the machine used (see below). The %a is used as a
legacy from times where WinXP and Win7 were used in parallel. The path
then looks like this:
/srv/profiles/Vista/user.v6
Now with this one machine and Windows 1709 Windows is samba thinks it
should be:
/srv/profiles/OSX/user.v6
Which fails after the first login (profile is created at first
location). Subsequent logins bring up an error message that the profile
could not be loaded. And on the samba side this is logged:
canonicalize_connect_path failed for service profiles, path
/srv/profiles/user/OSX
Here is the share definition:
[profiles]
csc policy = disable
browseable = no
writeable = yes
path = /srv/profiles/%U/%a
guest ok = no
create mask = 0700
directory mask = 0700
comment = Profile Share
Samba is 4.7.7 from Sernet running on Centos 7.4. If we create the
folder everything starts working. Just wondering is anybody seen this? I
find it amusing to let windows 10 run as OSX :-) Nut if ever some people
upgrade to 1709 an loose their profiles we would have to deal with this.
Googling found this:
https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12425
but this never went any further. Might be related?
Regards
Christian
