CTDB provides a cluster database for Samba to store state information.
None of the generic HA solutions will do that.

You can use other tools to handle IP failover and service monitoring, so
you can disable those in CTDB.  Some work has been done to team CTDB
with cluster managers such as etcd.

At the moment CTDB is monolithic, so you need to configure CTDB
to disable the parts you don't want.  We're hoping to make it more
modular... but we're not there yet.
