Hi,
We are testing samba 4.5.0 on hpux ia64. We are seeing below behavior.
Please clarify the same
1.
- Configure samba as nt4 server.
- Mount any share folder from windows client with any user.
Ex. user is *abc*
- open any file from mount directory
- Unmount share directory from Windows without closing the file.
- Try to mount folder from same windows client with any other user.
Ex. user is *xyz*
- Mount will fail
Query:- Mount fail is expected but is it expected that we are able to
unmount the directory even if any file from mounted directory is open ?
2.
- Configure samba as nt4 server.
- Mount any share folder from windows client with any user.
- Create txt file
- Open and modify the txt file with notepad or wordpad
- Not able to save with the error
*"parameter not correct" on windows *
- Saving txt file with notepad++ is working fine
- Creating and saving other extensions like ms word, excel are also
working fine.
Query:- Is there any known issue with samba 4.5.0 with saving file with
notepad and wordpad
3.
- Configure samba 4.5.0 as nt4 server on hpux box
- Configure samba 4.5.0 as nt4 member server to nt4 server configured on
first hpux machine
- Share folder from nt4 member server
- Try to access from nt4 server
- Not able to access share without providing credentials.
Query:- Should we able to access share without providing credentials?
4.
- Configure samba 4.5.0 as nt4 server on hpux box
- Configure samba 4.5.0 as nt4 member server to nt4 server configured on
first hpux machine.
- Check and access domain user with wbinfo.
- After a considerable time access them again. We are not able to do so
- On running net rpc join command again below error comes
Failed to join domain: failed to find DC for domain DOMAINNAME- No
domain controllers located
- Restart daemon on nt4 server
- net rpc join and wbinfo works fine
Query :- Is it expected behavior ?
5. Are there any known limitation with samba 4.5.0 while configuring it as
ADS member to Windows server 2016 ?
