If you are going to upgrade, I would suggest that you investigate 
compiling Samba yourself, the 4.1.x series gets security fixes only at 
the moment. The 4.4.x series is slated for release on the 8th March, at 
this time, 4.1.x will go EOL, 4.2.x will move to security fixes only, 
4.3.x will move to maintenance mode.

I thought the same as Louis, why wait nearly two months to report a 
problem, unless he hasn't waited two months and time is badly wrong on 
the DC.
