A migration to Samba4 should work, but replication back may not work.

(I've had a client running in that situation).

To test if a migration will be possible at all, you can run the new
'samba-tool drs clone-dc-database' command.

We continue to find and fix schema bugs - a number have been fixed
recently, or will be fixed soon.
