The show stopper like this would be noticed by other users so I
upgraded to samba4 ( 4.0.0-66.el6_6.rc4 ) and all of the sudden it
works as expected.
The samba 3.6.23-14.el6_6 obviously doesn't work properly with ctdb
2.5.1-1.el6 on centos 6.6.
