Whilst this is a bit OT for Samba, I think it is actually a pretty
fundamental issue. That's because there are two critical servers for a
Windows infrastructure - AD and WSUS (at least for networks with more than a
handful of clients). Given that the purchase of a single server licence
generally gives you the right (aiui) to run two instances - if you have to
buy one, you might as well run both AD and WSUS on Windows servers, i.e.
using Samba for AD becomes a bit pointless.

I tried really hard to get Nitrobit working, but failed. My notes read:

NITROBIT UPDATE SERVER
======================

Install as per instructions

Install mysql-server

Create mysql-server database

Replace /etc/apache2/mods-enabled/nitrobit-update-server.conf:

    Order allow,deny
    Allow from all

With:

    Require all granted

Unfortunately, whilst that got the web admin panel working, it could never
connect to the back-end. I tried emailing the company, but got no reply.
Frustrating.

If anyone gets any further please do let me know!

Thanks,
Chris.
