[Samba] re-re reply to Rowland Penny about samba failures

Here I sit with egg all over my face.

I started (again) with a fresh install of Mint 17.

I went through the os requirements (again).

This time, I did a git instead of straight download.

I went through the how-to verry carefully (again {or so I thought})

Now, things on the server seem okay.

John Cleese once said that 'the village idiot is a part of the old 
village system, and as such has a vital role to play in modern rural 
society.' Perhaps I can continue to play that role in the world of Samba.
