Oh, not true ! Linux cifsfs needs it - it's used by
SONOS, SageTV, and many other embedded clients, and
our own torture tests are *extremely* good at testing
SMB1/2/3 features.

The man pages are current for all releases. As I said,
we generate the code for smbd from them.
The web pages are a bonus. The man pages for
parameters should always be correct.

OK, then you'll need to do what Volker suggested and
try and isolate a capture trace to catch it in the
act from a specific client.
