Updating with sources from git is the same than via using the tarball.
Of course, it's always a good idea to read the release notes of skipped
version first. Sometimes parameter defaults changes, etc.

If you don't get into trouble if everything fails and all data gets
lost, you never need a backup ;-)



> - configure / make / make install
> - killall / start Samba

First stop Samba. Then 'make install'.
