[Samba] Winbind, "password server=", & DC selection

I have winbind on a box - Samba 3.6.9 - and although I have specified
servers via "password server=" it seems to connect to another DC anyway.

I see the connections to the other DC in "netstat --inet". 

Does winbindd not respect the value of "password server="?  Is there a
way to control what DCs winbind will use?
