I did what any sane person does, I turned apparmor OFF.
 From my experience, you think that you have got it setup to do what you 
want it to and then suddenly something else stops you doing what you are 
trying to do. Trying to work out just what you need to do and how, is 
virtually impossible, what you find in the logs seems to have little or 
nothing to do with what you need to put into the relevant conf file. ;-)
