[Samba] Samba + CUPS

I use CUPS, Raw, point and print  setup.
i have HP printers, and before you can upload the printer driver jou must disable SNMP communication in de driver, If you forget this, you wont be able to upload them.
there is a HP tool for this. and i use the global drivers.

https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba_as_a_print_server

If you have Xerox printers, wel.. Xerox says.. get an windows server, so im removing my Xerox printers from my network.

and tip...

Install the windows X64 drivers from a Windows x64 pc.
same for X32 install from x32 windows.

and the biggest tip...
Since Debian Jessie is still in development... if you setup works now. freeze it, keep it until Jessie gets stable.

last.. to get snmp working with the printer drivers, someone has posted something on the list about this, but you need to search for that..

hahaha

OK.
You've changed my mind about compiling it =X

Besides, while we were talking I managed to put cups as an backend and print through samba and cups.
He is showing the user name as it's AD domains name.

So, these next questions are probably Windows administrative questions, but I hope you guys could help me.

Which kind of drivers should I let it on my [print$]? .exes are fine as we get it on the printers manufacturers pages? That zip format which will exctract it's drive straight to the windows driver directory? Which works best?

Also, is it possible to show the documents name when sending it as a raw document? I would like to try something like Pykota and get some reports about what and how much our users are using the printers, for example.

Or it's just easier to do it via AD Windows tools?

Thank you!

The debian cups ( 1.5.x ) has kerberos bug and an ulgly other, i have to look for the exact bugs.
Debian Jessie has samba 4.1.11 ( or .12 ) and cups 1.7.x  here these bugs are fixed.

you can try recompiling cups from jessie to wheezy, but lot has change and you end up in a row of
packages upgrades you dont want, and these are needed to recompile cups.
Or get cups from source but thats not recommended.

best option. install debian jessie.
