when you provision the server the smb.conf is created.

I followed this https://blog.littlebigisland.net/2013/raspberry-pi-as-an-active-directory-domain to compile it from source and it is running ok but now how can I find where is the smb.conf file? Can't find it anywhere :s

Not in my limited experience. It needs some refinemnt for RHEL and
Fedora to enable full AD drop-in replacement, but I've had good
success with its stability for the last year of casual use.
