edit the file PTSETUP.DAT 
which contains. 
 
[PRINTER]
Version=300  
so this driver is a V3 arch. 
 
then the other option is upgrading samba.

Hai

Windows 2000 to Windows 7 used the v3 architecture printer drivers.
Windows 8(+) are on V4 architecture. ( but ! supports V3 )
So i suggest you replace the V4 drivers by V3 drivers on Windows 8 as quick fix.
