Reading the smb.conf it seams that you need now to explicitly set  ctdbd 
socket = /tmp/ctdb.socket (or whatever it is) in smb.conf
cf man smb.conf
A verbose testparm may give you more info.
I don't have access to a samba server so I can't test it.
