[Samba] domain-based DFS ?

No, not in my oppinion. 


These are the defaults on a DC: 
samba-tool testparm -vv | grep dfs
        host msdfs = Yes


and member server:
testparm -vv | grep dfs
        host msdfs = No
        msdfs root = No
        msdfs proxy =
