Hi, I sent you an email but now when I read it again, it looks like there
were some mistakes in it... Please ignore that and address only the
following message:

Hi,
I don't know if this is the right place to ask, but I really couldn't find
it anywhere on the web and if you could only provide me with a quick hint,
it would be really helpful!

I'm experiencing the following problem with the SMB file share protocol:
1. User1 logs into windows.
2. User1 loads a file (from a network share) and works on it
3. User2 logs into windows on a different machine.
4. User2 loads the same file (from the same location on network) but the
loading of the file is much much slower. When check the network traffic for
User2 during the loading of the file (using WireShark) I can see that the
file is devided into much smaller packets than it was when User1 loaded it.
This behaviour is reproducable 80% of the times.

User1 ALWAYS gets the file much faster than User2 and the packet sizes for
the file when User1 downloads it are ALWAY larger, my assumption is that
this is what causing the slow transfer.

My question is, does it make sense that the file would be devided into much
smaller packets when a second user accesses it over network?
If you, do you have a recommendation how I can improve this behaviour to
make User2 get the file just as fast as User1?

Again, any hint woul dbe greatly valued... Thanks a lot for taking the time
to read my email!
