Hi Jeremy,

i have applied your patch to most recent git master and did a 64Bit build.
To be sure that no other regressions crept in, i've also started a 32Bit build,
which will take some time ...
Using the 64Bit samba build, i did some MSDOS client tests against a share with
about 1000 files.

All is working now as expected here!  :-)

I guess, you'll make some (crazy) legacy users very happy.

In case the 32Bit build has problems, i'll report later.
