[Samba] Config settings

I also hunted and hunted and somehow got samba4 working with GPO's etc in my
sandbox... now it is a process of backwards engineering (in other words)
starting from scratch and writing down step by step howto install and
configure samba4... and you are right... it is magic when it works.... I can
hide the control panel on windows machines etc... redirect folders, create
shares and all of this from a Windows PC with Remote Active directory user
administration tools provided by Microsoft :-)

Samba4 just sits happy in the background.

I think everyone using samba must have some sort of tracking document that
they can note changes in as they progress with the install, tricks on how to
proceed etc...

And then we must all make the doc available to the public.... if only I had
done the same when I started, but I got so excited I only realized later
that I did not note some of the steps down.
Bits and pieces of paper in a file though :-)

It is fun and I like it.

Can't wait for Samba to be solid when all the bugs are sorted. Keep up the
great work samba team!

Ray

Those are Samba 3 settings. As far as I can see, not much has changed in
these settings, so I guess most of them still apply.
I also found this: http://www.sloop.net/smb.conf.html
So I guess 'man smb.conf' is the way to go :) Speaking of Samba 4
documentation, I can see http://www.samba.org/samba/docs/man/Samba4-HOWTO/
is a work in progress.
Are there, other than thes howto pages, any interesting books in the making,
because for me it seems Samba 4 is the next best thing since sliced bread,
but documentation is very scarce :)
