[Samba] issues joining second DC

I have 1 DC in the UK running samba4 fine for the last 6 weeks now am
trying to join another

this one is in shanghai connected via VPN

when joining am getting the following error

is there a work around ot some setting I can adjust to stop the time out
over the low bandwidth link ?
