Samba 3.0.6.9 is the version I have in yum.
Is this version ok to act as a member server? Or I should install 3.0.2?

I only publish RPM building tools, not binaries. I don't consider my github or other personally available repositories secure enough for me to publush such critical binaries as Samba, but I'm happy to publish open source tools that way. So you'd have to build it. But if you're wirking with an upstream supported, stable environment like CentOS or Scientific Linux, why experiment with new tools you don't need? I wind up needing the newer tools, but suggest that for just a plain client, you should be fine with the default Samba 3.x from CentOS.
