Hm... maybe something a little bit more useful.

I just noticed that, in fact, the network usage that iftop shows drops to
almost nothing for the most active connections. It doesn't seem to take
long before it resumes like normal. The Win7 log files seem to indicate
that the connection is being re-established (the users are logging in
again), but the samba server doesn't indicate this at all.

For the most recent hang, the net usage on the client didn't go high like
the last time.
