[Samba] FAQ: Samba without local accounts, ldap &c

Hey,

probably a FAQ, but in the last few hours browsing docs and searching
I couldn't locate a definitive answer:

How to configure user accounts without local accounts, without ldap
and without AD (i.e. without additional software)?

>From reading the manuals I'd guess idmap backend = tdb and idmap uid
and idmap pid are the way to go. Is that rigth? Can you point me
towards any documentation regarding such a setup?
