Windows 7 Professional 32-bit
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion: 7600

Ubuntu-8.04.4 LTS
samba-3.0.28a-1ubuntu4.13

I applied the Registry settings as documented at
http://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Windows7

HKLM\System\CCS\Services\LanmanWorkstation\Parameters
            DWORD DomainCompatibilityMode = 1
            DWORD DNSNameResolutionRequired = 0

Attempting to logon to PC28 with any domain\username samba logs these errors:

[2011/01/12 22:57:39, 2] libsmb/credentials.c:creds_server_check(220)
  creds_server_check: credentials check failed.

[2011/01/12 22:57:39, 0] rpc_server/srv_netlog_nt.c:_net_auth_2(478)
_net_auth2: creds_server_check failed. Rejecting auth request from
client PC28 machine account PC28$

I found this thread
http://lists.samba.org/archive/samba/2006-January/116053.html seem to
be the problem I have there's a follow up at
http://lists.samba.org/archive/samba/2006-January/116095.html but no
resolution.

PC28 join the domained with no problems, just the specified warning as
documented at
http://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Windows7

I have other Win7 32-bit and Win7 64-bit system authenticating to this
server with no problems.

testparam is clean

The Samba Checklist at (http://bit.ly/gCBS3G) shows

nmblookup -B SERVER __SAMBA__ ok

nmblookup -B 10.77.14.28 '*'
added interface ip=10.77.14.1 bcast=10.77.14.255 nmask=255.255.255.0
Socket opened.
querying * on 10.77.14.28
name_query failed to find name *

The nmblookup -B tells me something wrong with PC28, but what?

net view \\SERVER on PC28 gives me a list of shares

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.
