Yeah, I worked with the Sernet version (recompiling from SRPM to
verify the source code) to test out NFSv4 ACL interactions. I sent
along a few suggestions about it: the whole "samba-vscan" debris from
an ancient SuSE compilation environment can be tossed out, that
particular tool is abandonware and not even enabled in the
compilation.

But overall, it was helpful to get an up-to-date toolkit running. I've
been trying Samba 3.6.0pre1, and having problems, and samba-4.0.0*
does something very odd with where it puts mount.cifs and umount.cifs
and how it builds its configure scripts. I'm an old autoconf user,
this new structure doesn't seem to have hooks for sbindir, and that's
going to cause compatibility issues.
